Is there a way to migrate an existing Jira Servicedesk project to the new Jira Service Management project ?
You can now enable the new features in existing Servicedesk projects
1. goto Project settings
2. Features -> toggle desired feature on
All projects should migrate to the new format over the next few weeks.
I can't see that there is a way to force this through for a particular project.

I've just been made aware that my info above is incorrect.
There is currently no way to migrate a project to the new ITSM template. You would need to do a manual move of a current project.
My advice would be to see if it is something you need straight away, and to wait and see if Atlassian do offer a migration in the future
