Hello,
I am trying to create a Alert User for an automation rule within a Next-gen project.
You can mention a user or team.
My question is how do you mention a team? What is a team?
I also see users that I dont recognise? Where do I find these as they are not in the user management area?
You can add teams by going to Jira -> People and add your team
The names which dont recognise are App user Names. Each App gets a user id allocated on installation for permission management. Hope that clears all your questions.
Cheers
Ajay
Thanks for the response.
Also I wanted to know if there is a difference between the automation within a next-gen project and from the jira service desk admin area?

"Automation for Jira" was recently acquired by Atlassian , and is now integrated into the standard edition of Jira/ServiceDesk.
This is what you see in the Project Settings under Automation Rules.
"Automation for Jira" is way more powerful than the default automation provided in Jira ServiceDesk Project. I believe they will slowly phase out the default automation feature provided in ServiceDesk project.
Cheers
