Can attachments be configured to open in native app

Is there a way to configure Jira Service Desk so that when I click on a PDF it opens in adobe directly rather than me having to download OR at least auto download the file like it does for attached email or word docs?

Keen to see an answer to this - having to download and open a pdf to use the search function if a bit backwards.
