I've updated the Request Created email notification and saved. When I send a test email the correct info is displayed on the email, however when I email a new request to the support team the automated response email shows the JSD default Request created email not the revised version. Why would this happen and is there something else I need to do?
I am only updating the text in the body of the email.

Some wild guesses:
Customer notifications are on a project level, so could it be that you only changed one project and the notification is coming from another project?
Also the notifications can be set per language, so maybe you only changed english and the support team their jira user language is set to something else?

They are set on the right project. Language we are only English but when I click on language support we do have a translation to English (UK). Does that mean I have to amend an English (UK) version and if so any ideas how I do that?
