Date field in Jira Service Desk Form with conditions

Juby John August 14, 2019

Is there a way to have a date field such that it does not let you enter weekend dates or dates < 48hrs of submitted date.

For both the conditions it should give error.

Is it possible in Jira Service Desk Forms. Or Jira Service Desk Extension Add-on, Is there some add-on or automation available to do this?

Hey @Juby John

This would have to be achieved with an add on. All the options I am going to present to you are for Cloud and Server since you did not specify which one you are on.

I'm not 100% sure but you may be able to do this with JSU Automation Suite. You would add a validator on the create transition and use the Date Expression Compare. There may be a way to specific weekends and not allow those.

Another option is ScriptRunner. If anyone on your team has groovy experience, you could use ScriptRunner as the validator on the create transition.

You could also try out Extension for Jira Service Desk. This allows you to add dynamic fields to your forms. On date fields you can add additional validators within their application and you may be able to restrict weekends. Im not 100% sure on that though.

Hope this helps!
