Hi. Is there a way to set up Jira SD so that comms don't get sent out for sub-tasks within a specific project? I've looked at automation within the Project Settings but I can't see a way of filtering by issue type.
Basically sub-tasks are our own team's tickets that are created when we break down the requests that our customers give us - we want all comms to take place only on the parent request, but of course we still need to transition the sub-tasks (which will currently create email comms).
Sub-Tasks in Service Desk should not send out external service desk communications since you can not associate a request type with them. Any communication that is going out is due to the notification scheme on the project. These would go out to watchers, assignee and reporter (if the reporter has a JIRA license or a service desk license)
Thanks for the response but that doesn't really answer my question:
"Is there a way to set up Jira SD so that comms don't get sent out for sub-tasks within a specific project?"
For example, could scripting achieve this? If so, how? If I change the customer notifications for the project, could I still allow comms for non sub-task issues? Could it be managed within the sub-task workflow?
Failing that, is there a way I can change the setup so that the reporter of the "parent" ticket doesn't carry over to the sub-task?
