How can I remove unused service desks from my help centre portal page?

Ian Walker August 17, 2019

In JIRA Service Desk, when I go to the portal page for my Service Desk project ('ITSM Service Desk'), on the page I see my 'ITSM Service Desk', which is correct, but I also see other service desk projects set up by others that are unused.  How can they be removed?

Note - I may not have access to these projects in JSD, does that matter?

Regards.

Ian

hey Ian, I think you might need access to those projects. There are 2 things you could do in this situation to try and hide those projects:

  • Access the JSD project's 'Request types' page and hide all the requests that are showing up in the portal - not pretty, but will get the job done.
  • Access the permission scheme associated to the JSD project and remove the 'Browse Projects' permission granted to Service Desk Customer - Portal Access. You might have to remove that permission from other users & groups depending on how it's configured and what you're trying to achieve.

Those are the 2 ways I know of doing this, but again, I think you might need access to the project or Jira admin-level access to do this.

Thanks for replying @gobrunoo.  I believe that it is a permissions issue, you are correct, and I am checking this with the IT team here.
