Issue when turning on email on Jira Service Desk Cloud

Hi all,

when I turn on email requests on my Jira Service Desk Cloud i receive this error:

To receive requests by email, you must have a request type with visible Summary and Description fields. All other request type fields must be optional. You can create a new request type or modify an existing one here.

Summary and Description fileds are both reuired and visible everywhere : 

  • on the customer portal
  • on the issue type screen

I honestly do not know how to solve this problem.

All other request type fields must be optional. It won't work if any more are required fields.

@Roberto Ialino, I would recommend first reading this article. The link is for cloud but you can certainly switch to the server version via that link (top RH corner).

Basically, you need to:

  • assign a Request type to your email used for submitting request
  • as Jason indicated for the chosen request type you need to have the summary (subject line of email) and descriptions (body of email) fields listed as required.

I generally have unique email request types defined and I hide them from the portal.
