Moving an issue to a different project doesn't notify the reporter

If an issue is moved to another project, the reporter does not get notified that the issue has been moved to a new project. When issue is moved from 1 project to another it will assign a new issue number, the reporter has no way of knowing it's been assigned a new issue number and some reporters have no access to the portal to check the status of their issue.

First, try modifying the notification scheme to say "when issue moved, notify reporter".

Second, don't worry.  When an issue is moved, anyone who goes to the old <jira>/browse/<project>-<sequence>, they are automatically redirected to the new one.

That's great! Our Jira admin staff couldn't setup this up initially until I posted this and referred them to this post. Thanks for your assistance.

Will the reporter get notifications on the new ticket?
