Good Morning;
I have several incidents linked between them, but I do not get that when I change the state defined as "mother" the other incidents, say "Daughters" are left with the same status as the main one.
How can I do so that when I touch a main incident, the other related incidents are updated with the same status?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Javier,
That is not automatic. You would need to either configure your workflow withe post workflow functions to transition linked issues, or use JSD Automation or the app "Automation for Jira" to automate that behaviour.
Hope that helps
Susan
Hi Susana.
Thanks for the info. You could tell me if there is a page where they can guide me or give me some basic notes since I have been trying it through the automation of JSD and I have not managed to make it work.
Thanks again

HI,
Did you look at "Update when a linked issue changes". That's the closest on for JSD Automation out of the box.
If that doesn't work I highly recommend the app Automation for Jira. There is a free lite version as well as a paid for version. It will be able to do that.
Cheers,

Hi Javier,
did you come across the available preset "Update when a linked issue changes" within your Jira Service Desk Project configuration when adding a new automation rule? You should be able to implement your use case customizing it and as a result, have linked issues transition to a different status when the "mother" is transitioned.
Best, Max

Hello Max;
I have found the option and I am working on it, but at the moment without success.

Hi Javier,
what are you having problems with exactly? Is the audit log on the issue any help in troubleshooting the configuration for you? Maybe you can provide your IF conditions. And depending on the amount of transitions/statuses you will have to set up multiple rules (one for each) as you can't simply inherit the status of the mother to the others without thirds-party apps here. So you have to map "linked issue has been transitioned" -> "link type matches" and "linked issue matches status xyz" to transition the daughters to the same status xyz.

Hi Max;
I enclose what the automation record tells me, no matter how hard I turn it around, I can not see why it is failing me. I have tried other possible combinations, always working from the incidence "mother"

Hi Javier,
is "Abierto" the source or the target status? You have to enter the target status for the linked issue in the "linked issue matches" condition.
