Why can I no longer enter time estimates?

As of this morning, I am no longer to enter time estimates on tasks, stories, etc. This feature was working as of about 8:00 PM last night. Now, the estimate field has completely disappeared. Nobody on our end has edited the project during the interim. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Hi Chris,

Most likely, someone from your team who has Admin rights went in the screen and removed (probably by accident) Time Tracking from the screen.

Hi Tony,

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, the only person who has admin rights to the project wasn't even logged on during the time period in which this must have occurred. We eventually were able to get the field back, but even then the estimates were not acting as expected (currently we have to go through several steps to edit and/or add estimates whereas yesterday it could easily be done in one screen. Have there been any recent patches, updates, etc which may have inadvertently affected the estimate function?

Which version of Jira are you using? Is it using Atlassian Cloud? or Server on prem?
