How can I create automation or rules to do something with a ticket based on email domain
Iideally I wish to have the ability to update a file with source ourganisation based on the email address.
I can add organisation (default field) to the users manually but not automatically
I cannot use the email address of the requestor to update a custom field (clientorganisation) on the ticket
this is so that multiple organisations/sources can be easily viewed on the queues
is there anyway to run actions/automation based on email domain or wildcard?
Natively you cannot. However an automation addon could meet your needs I think. For example Automation for Jira has the ability to update the Organization field based upon the email domain of the reporter. You can also look at Scriptrunner, Power Scripts, etc.
