Praktikant PM June 17, 2020

Does anyone know if there is a way to send and receive emails from people that don´t have a jira account?

Thanks in advance

Hi @Praktikant PM

Can you provide some more information on what you want to achieve with these emails?
Is it to

  • Add comments to an existing ticket?
  • Create a new ticket?
  • Send details from a ticket to specific users?
  • Send updates to a specific user?

Without this information it is hard to provide you with meaningful advice.  On a general note though if you want to interact with named individuals and to record the actions related to them it is best for them to be a user with a Jira account.

Regards

Phill

I’ll say setup a Jira service desk project and all that was mentioned by @Phill Fox should ensure you can communicate with none Jira license holders.

If you already have a JSD project, go to:

https://<yoursite>.atlassian.net/servicedesk/admin/<JSD project key>/customer-permissions

And choose "Anyone can send a request via the portal or <email address of portal>"

Also check the customer permissions section at: https://<yoursite>.atlassian.net/secure/admin/SDConfiguration.jspa
