Why I cannot connect to mail server? I got a ":signature does not match error"

Unfortunately JIRA couldn't connect to the mail server. Here is what the mail server said: "Signature does not match." Check out our troubleshooting docs for help resolving the issue.

Ever figured this out?

Im running in to this now.
I've imported a couple of self-signed CA's to cacerts to get around 

"Unable to find valid certification path to requested target"
But is now getting "signature does not match"
