Hi,
preconditions:
Jira SD server and Jira Software server are run on the same instance
Created user directory for exchange users in between the two Jira's
In SD I can see users in the group jira-software (they haven't application access). Now I want them to watch issues and leave internal comments. How can I reach it?
I tryed to add software users in the servicedesk-team project role, grant permission to browse project but all was unsuccessful. I did everything with this article https://confluence.atlassian.com/servicedeskserver/collaborate-with-other-jira-teams-on-jira-service-desk-issues-950813501.html
Can someone help me?
Hello,
Create a group that has access to browse projects in the Servicedesk, and then put your software users into this group.
The 'Servicedesk Team' role is used for those with Servicedesk Agent licences and comes out of the box with Jira.
Phil
This would be possible if you have Jira Software and Service Desk running on the same instance.
It seems that on SD instance the jira-software-users have no licenses nor application access since the jira software license is installed on a different Jira instance.
To achieve this, you should consider having both Jira SW+SD on the same instance
You may install Jira Service desk on a running Jira SW without even restarting the server.
Check this guide on how to install JSD on running Jira if this solution fits your needs
