I am reaching out to the community looking for a solution.
The problem, I have a rentals system in jira that works on work orders. Picture that we have a jira work order site for booking rooms for days and times of the week. Each work order has a start and end time, and some other content but lets just say a "title". I want this jira list, to be available to either the jira portal, or on confluence, and represented in a graphical calendar form.
I have tried many different plugins for this now. All have a similar problem. I cannot view jira events unless the viewer is a service desk agent. Even if they can view them in the portal by having say, an organization permission on the work order.
I am prepared and have made a service desk agent strictly for this purpose, however i cant find any plugin that will masquarade as this user for anyone that loads a calendar page. They all seem to want to use the credentials of the currently logged in user, who is just a portal user, as opposed to a generic credentials for everyone, which is a service desk agent and therefor would be able to view all the work orders on the system.
Has anyone done anything similar and could let me know their setup? even pointing me in the right direction regarding plugins. The end users (portal users, confluence users, etc) do not need to edit the calendar, they just need to view events, their name and duration.
Using 'extended my requests', i can generate a "list" form of this, however users want a graphical calendar. This is basically replacing our last sharepoint functionality and if i get this done i can decommission sharepoint completely.
