Unable to set child option of cascading field as mandatory

Hi,

I have created Department & Sub-Department as cascading field. Also configured the field configuration to set Department & Sub-Department as mandatory.

On the create and edit form, validation is failed if Department is None.

But if Sub-Department is None, validations is passed and issue form is submitted.

Is there any solution to configure both parent and child option as mandatory?

This is a known issue that Atlassian had been tracking:

They have deemed that "At the moment this is outside the scope of the custom field."
