I have Jira Core 8.3.2 and Service Desk 4.3.2. I want to upgrade my Service Desk to 4.3.4 due to the Jira security advisory. I downloaded 4.3.4 which was an .exe file but I cannot find any instructions on how to update this.
The service desk install was originally from the Jira web interface so I am not sure what to do with the .exe.
I have the same problem, upgrading Service Desk 4.2.4. The support has told me to:
1. Upgrade JIRA Core/Software first, using OBR file not EXE file (that worked).
2. Upgrade Service Desk using OBR file (that still causes error).
If anyone has any information how to resolve this problem, please let me know.

After you update core/software, you should have an option from the "Applications -> Version and licenses" page to upgrade service desk from within jira.
