i have my service desk project with customer permission "Customers who have an account on this Jira site".
1. I read that by this permission , Jira software users will be added to service desk (server)project automatically . But nothing happened like this..
2. i tried to add jira software user to service desk project through
project settings > Users and roles. i couldn't even add the user as this is showing user not found
So what should i do to add my jira software user to service desk project
Are you software and service desk jira instances running on the same server? Or do you have 2 completely separate jira instances? (the user not found leads me to think they are completely seperate)

Jira users will be customers automatically, but not Service Desk Agents. Customers are not added to roles.

Do i have to change any configuration or permission for that? Because i couldn't mention or assign service desk issues to the jira software users.Also i couldn't find the jira software users in the service desk user list

Service Desk issues are only assigned to Service Desk Agents. Software users can be invited to participate, but can't be assigned issues, as they're not the people dealing with them.
