A domains whitelist for reporters

Fabio Martignago April 5, 2019

Hello,

I would like to set open JSD (cloud) for all of my collegues, but I must to reject/deny all the tickets/issues sent by unknown people from unknown domains.

I don't find a way to do this.

What do you think ? Could you help me?

Hello Fabio,

I hope you are having a nice day.

Unfortunately, JIRA Service Desk Cloud does not have the functionality to restrict sign-up by domain. We have a feature request created to implement this kind of customization here:

Include Domain Level Restrictions for Service Desk Public Signup

Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.

For now, a possible workaround used for some customers is:

- Configure your help desk for Public sign-up, but restrict the individual knowledge base and ticketing system in JSD projects. This means everyone can simply create an account but not setup tickets or access the knowledge base.

- Then used the announcement to say "Unlock your account <link>".

- Clicking the link fires an externally hosted script that checks the user's email domain against a whitelist and then does an API call to add the user to the customer group with ticketing/kb access.

Let us know if this information helps.
