Access to Jira from third party applications

Hemanshu February 8, 2017

Hi,

We have created a bridge for Service Now JIRA integration, but when the service now team tries to access JIRA production system from their end, they get an error "Unknown host" and are not able to trigger updates in JIRA with rest APIs.

Is there a firewall which protects 3rd party applications to access JIRA ? how to disable it?

Not in the application - it's your network that is not resolving the host name, or blocking it.

Hence our network team needs to disable the firewall or enable entry of Service Now production into JIRA production so as to allow "update" of JIRA tickets via Rest API?

Please confirm Nic

"unknown host" usually means your DNS is not resolving it, rather than it being firewalled off.

But yes, your network team needs to fix it.
