Accidental Premium Account, Request for Confirmation of No Charges

Hello,

I am a student and I wanted to learn how to use Jira, so I created an account. During the account creation process, I was not asked about a paid and premium plan. After creating the account, I realized it was a premium plan and immediately canceled it within a few minutes. Since I am a student, I really cannot afford to pay, and the premium account was created by mistake, but I canceled it immediately.

Do I still need to pay anything now?

Please check below details

Kindly navigate below on your site and check which plan its showing

  1. Go to admin.atlassian.com/billing. Select your billing account if you have more than one.

  2. Go to Subscriptions from the side navigation.

  3. If this is showing premium and you have canceled this, then premium plan will be available until the late day of its subscription ends. So it wont be payable 

You can also change your plan from premium to free following this document : https://support.atlassian.com/subscriptions-and-billing/docs/manage-your-bill-for-standard-and-premium-plans/

Incase you facing some issue, please reach out to the billing team here : https://www.atlassian.com/company/contact/purchasing-licensing?#/ They will double confirm this and help you to change your current plan to a free plan for your instance

I recommend that you contact the Atlassian Billing Support team directly about this to get an authoritative answer.

When setting up a new subscription generally those are initiated as a trial and no immediate charges are made.

If you have just recently cancelled the subscription you may still be able to reactivate it and be able to downgrade to the Free subscription through the Billing page at https://admin.atlassian.com.

Alternately you can start a new subscription. Carefully review all the text on each screen, as there will surely be information about the type of plan to which you are subscribing and there should be options to select the plan (Free, Standard, Premium). If somehow you start a trial of one of the paid plans (Standard or Premium), then through the Billing page mentioned above you should be able to Manage your subscription and downgrade it to the Free plan.
