Add Request Participants field to agile board Issue Detail View

I've looked for but cannot find anything about this issue.  Maybe I just missed it, but I'm wondering if it's got something to do with the way our instance is configured.

I cannot add the Request Participants field to the Issue Detail View of an agile board.  The field does not appear under General fields, Date fields, or People.

I'm a Jira Server (v8.13.9) admin.  Request Participants works as expected otherwise.

Is this a problem for anyone else?

Are Software and JSM not playing well together?

Is this feature just not available or do we need to change a setting?
