Any simple way to set up "select-list options" from external source?
If so, can the options be read "on the fly" meaning that I can add to them to the source (e.g. database or a Confluence page) independent from Jira, but next time I create a Jira issue the new options appear in the "select-list" field?
Hi Karl,
We use an add-on called External Data for Jira Fields. You can connect to XML, Database, etc.
Hi @Karl Roth
When i have that need I had used Adaptavis Script Runner.
You can check this blog post about it

Best regards,
Pedro

Hi @Karl Roth , if you want to use an app that's dedicated to this kind of things on Server / Data Center, you should have a look at Elements Connect for Jira .
Elements Connect allows you to fetch data from a wide range of datasources (including databases) and display it nicely inside Jira issues. You can choose if you want your data to be live fetched or fields to be static and fetch their value from the source only once.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Julie from Elements

Hello @John Funk , it's normal you don't see yet any pricing on the listing. During our beta, Elements Connect for Jira Cloud is free. Then it'll be priced per user per month (can't share the details yet, but will ping you here when we're ready to list the future pricing publicly).

@Julie d_Antin _Elements_ - how long will the Beta last? I am not willing to try out a product without knowing at least a future price range. If I use it and like it and build things around it in the beta and then a high price tag comes later, then all of the effort will be lost. I have to be honest that feels a little bit like a bait and switch to me.

@John Funk , I appreciate your honest feedback and understand pricing is an important concern for you because you need to plan ahead your budget.
The beta has just been released earlier this week and all our efforts until then were focused on shipping a quality product so we can start helping people fetch data from external databases and start getting user feedback.
I have to ask you to be a bit patient while we finish working out the details of our pricing model. :-)
Rest assured it's a matter of a couple of weeks before we communicate it, not months. I’ll post the link in this thread as soon as the pricing is ready to be disclosed to keep you updated.

Okay thanks for that update. I am already using another vendor, so I will continue with that. Just thought I would check out any new alternatives. :-)
