Automate Workflow Transition based on branch type in Bitbucket

Our team is striving to find ways to automate mundane procedures. Relying on team members to manual update status is unreliable especially if the ticket requires activity in the development branches. As a means to encourage accurate reporting status, we previously determine to auto transition the ticket base on the pull merge , pull request, or commit to a release branch. 

Initially the activity worked until it was brought the attention that there multiple branches. What we would want is to develop add logic that when a merge or pull request occurs at a specific then the status should update to close, in progress, etc.

Our organization works on Jira Server, does anyone is there an advance option to drill automation to identify  specific release branch names, user names, etc.
