Hello,

Is it possible to automate the following process: when User Story will be moved to Ready for Development status, can it be automatically moved to NOT STARTED Sprint "Ready for Development" in the Backlog? My PO likes to divide the Backlog in parts, like Not Refined, Ready for Dev, etc.

Hi @Natalia Wołoszyn -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I am puzzled by the workflow you describe, and so I wonder:

If when the team refines a backlog item, and they apparently have some status specifically to indicate that (and which I suspect is not mapped to the Scrum board), why couldn't they then immediately move the item to that "readiness" sprint rather than change the status?

Kind regards,
Bill

Hi @Natalia Wołoszyn

Yes, as long as Not Refined, Ready for Dev & so on are existing sprints, you can automate them based on the status. You can create an automation with trigger issue transition & then edit issue field sprint & set the desired sprint out of the option.

Please note that issue remain in backlog irrespective of their status if the sprint is not started. So what you are looking for is possible with the automation.

Hope it helps.
