hi, is a team managed project, I dont see any advantage of use the backlog feature, if anybody in team can send issues to the backlog without any kind of supervision.

For now, I will not use it, and try to do some "emulation" with the status and the rules.

thanks

Hello @Carlos

Are you using a Kanban board or a Scrum board? I see in your post tags you have added "kanban".

Are you using a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project?

With a Company Managed project the placement of an issue in the backlog list versus "on the board" is based on the issue status. You could use Conditions in the Workflow Transitions to limit who is able to set an issue to a particular status.

In Team Managed projects the placement of an issue in the backlog list versus "on the board" is not based on the issue status. In such project you can also modify the Workflow Transition to limit who can use the transition to move an issue to a specific status, but that does not affect whether the issue is displayed in the backlog list or on the board.

You did not say if you are using a Kanban board or a Scrum board.

If you are using a Kanban board, you can turn the Backlog feature off so there would be no option for a user to move a card from the Board to the Backlog.

If you are using a Scrum board the Backlog feature is an inherent part of the process where the Backlog holds issues not assigned to Sprints, so you can't turn it off. In that case if you want to prevent a user from pulling an issue out of a sprint and adding it back to the Backlog I think you would need to take away the Manage Sprints permissions from that user.
