Calculate difference between 2 date fields (issued date and custom date field) based on trigger

One of my screens to create a bug has 3 custom fields: a select list (single choice) [SL], a date picker [DP] and a simple text one [ST].

The SL field has options "Started", "WIP" and "Finished".

If "Finished" is selected from SL, the ST field gets populated with the difference in days between the date in DP and the date the ticket was initially created.

what exactly is the question? where are you struggling?

Did you read into some examples of jira automation and tried to set up the rule?
