Srikanth Vemuluri February 13, 2023

Hello All,

We want to Update dropdown values of a cascading type custom field after certain time intervals by using an Web hook/Automation rule -"Send a Web request". Is it possible to update the particular field values?? If so please suggest how can we do it or using which tool in Jira cloud standard.

Regards,

Hey @Srikanth Vemuluri - yup, there's actually a tutorial that addresses this exact issue here:

For reference, the full API is here:

For one of the calls, it was a bit tricky finding the "Context ID", which I recently wrote an answer about:

I hope this helps. If you run into issues, you can always post a follow-up question here.

Hi @Srikanth Vemuluri ,

If you're okay using a marketplace app, I believe our Cloud fortified Elements Connect app can help you achieve what you are looking for.

Elements Connect can help you populate a drop-down list with external data fetched from your remote data source.

You can get inspired by this use case, connecting Jira to Okta for example, or just follow our public documentation.

Let me know if this helps you! You can always contact our support team if more information is needed.
