Can we use distinct list on watchers?

I found this automation - https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/automation-template-library#/rule/9918938 - and got it working for assignees.
I thought I could change "Reporter" or "Assignee" to "Watchers", so I can notify Watchers when an issue is approaching the Due Date. But the automation fails with the following error:
I've tried so many different options, but I thought I'd put it out to the community to see if they have any ideas. TIA!
