I cannot find a way to copy time spent when I am creating an issue in Jira Software Automation. Can you help?
Hi @Sue Hannan
What do you mean by "copy"? What is the source of the value?
If you are trying to copy from another field, I believe you need to use the advanced edit features:
Kind regards,

yes, I am trying to run automation to copy/create issue from a next gen to a classic project. I am looking at several options (a bulk edit move, a csv export and import, and automation). So far automation looks like to be the best method bc it keeps the issue in the next gen (and I am linking the two) therefore users can go back to original for anything that doesn't copy. It's strange tho bc some fields copy and some fields don't. Also, some fields are available to create in the classic project (in automation) from the next gen fields where as sometimes I cannot find the field. There doesn't appear to be any logic to why some work and others don't. I'm not certain of how to use the Advanced edit features. If you have an easy youtube or other training for the JSON/advanced edit feature then please share. Thanks!

Hi, Sue.
There are definitely field differences between company-managed and team-managed projects, and changes in how issues are linked. Please take a look at this article to learn some of those differences before trying to move/copy issues:
I do not know of any video training for the JSON edits, although if you search here in the community you may find some. Here are some for automation in general, including the template library to give you examples:
