Hello,
I want to be able to create stories from Opsgenie alerts so I have followed the documentation found here:
https://support.atlassian.com/opsgenie/docs/integrate-opsgenie-with-jira/
And enabled the section: For other Opsgenie alerts->Create Jira Issues for Opsgenie Alerts.
I also followed the steps to create a token through: https://support.atlassian.com/atlassian-account/docs/manage-api-tokens-for-your-atlassian-account/
When I test this integration, no story is created. But I can see that the token was used because the link allows to see when was seen the last time.
I have entered all parameters, project and issue type correctly. The only parameter that I see may not be correct is the URL. I am using the root URL from jira cloud from my company. As the token is being used, I imagine the URL should be correct.
Any hint help will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Rafael.
I think the document you referenced is for Jira Server/Data Center.
Please try these instructions that are specifically for OpsGenie and Jira Cloud.
https://support.atlassian.com/opsgenie/docs/use-opsgenie-with-jira-software-cloud/
The instructions I had don´t mention Jira Cloud explicitelly but it says jira software (which I always saw referring to Jira Cloud). On the other hand it has an extra comment for Jira Server "Opsgenie provides OEC solution for Jira On-Premise users to send Opsgenie alerts to Jira." which is optional so I assumed that both would be supported in that document.
The problem with the link you provided is the pre-requisites: "your Opsgenie account should be under an Atlassian site for the integration to work." I don´t know why the opsgenie account is not under an atlassian site as Jira and confluence in the company I work for, but I can imagine that migrating it for al the company will require me to depend on several folks which will delay this a lot if even approved.

I'm afraid I don't have actual experience integrating OpsGenie and Jira, and so have no additional advice for you.
