We want to leverage best practices for managing Jira + Confluence support by leveraging Atlassian default project templates.   Playing around with JSM Project Templates, we’ve found a combination of both non-ITSM and ITSM template defaults fit our needs best.   The Issue Type scheme we have is below:

The ITSM created Issue Types have “[System] “ in front.   To keep Issue Type names clean and consistent, we'd like to remove that.   Does anyone know the purpose of these?    Will we have any problems if we remove these?

Hi @Jonathan Wohlers

You need to have Jira Administration rights for doing this. Yes you can rename Issue Type Name and also define a standard that other projects can follow. Ideally create standardised configurations that can be reused.

Go this url: JIRAURL/jira/settings/issues/issue-types

Take a look at your issue types first and then create Issue Type Schemes (collection of issue types) or modify the one that you already have.

I hope it helps.

Ravi
