Hi,
I have created own request types for our service desk. I deleted the others because we do not use them. But everytime I create a new project it creates the standard request types again and allocates them to the project.
Is there a possibility to change the default request types for creating a new project? Or maybe create an own project type "variant", e.g. Service Desk comes with Basic, Customer service or IT Service Desk (see also attached screenshots). Can I create an own one?
Thank in advance!
The project creation templates are not configurable that way. They're actually small add-ons that tell Jira how to build a project.
To change the issue types they try to create, you'd have to hack those add-ons (or, better, copy them, and adjust them to make your own versions, then disable the system ones)
Hello @Nic Brough -Adaptavist-,
thank you for your response. When you say I "have to hack" do you mean that this is no official way to change the types?
Could you elaborate how I can do this?

Correct. The types are written in the code for the templates, there is no way to change them easily.
"Have to hack" is my short-hand for "write some code (probably based on existing code) that will do what you need"

Thank you! I am not into Jira coding anyway, so I will leave it at that and maybe forward my issue to our Jira specialist.
However, nice to know this could be a thing ;)

Hi, I have a similar question. When creating a Service Desk Classic project in cloud with Share Settings with an existing project checked and used, the request types default back to Problem-Detailed, Problem-Quick, and Bug.
How can I use the customized request types from by shared service desk project?

Hello,
When you create a project you can choose Create with shared configuration. In this case you will have to choose the project from which all the settings will be taken. But the problem is that settings will be shared. The two projects will share same schemes and any changes to either of these projects will be applied to both projects.

Thank you for your answer. I tried the shared configuration, but this seems to be more complicated afterwards, in case I want to change the schemes in only one project.
So this is also no suitable solution. Could be so easy if you could just deactivate or edit the issue types that come with the projcet types.
