Changing the date for a project

I have changed the date format in advanced setting to mm/dd/yyyy and correspondingly %m/%d/%Y, but it is not reflecting. I also found that all modified dates in the workflow have changed .please help.

I want to change the date format for one project only.

The date settings are global, not project related.  You won't be able to do that.
