Comment mandatory when approving request in change management

Hi

Can you help on how to mandatory field the comment when approving or declining the request in Jira (Approver side)? I tried Validator, but still, I denied a request, even though I didn't comment on the change request.

Hi Janna,

Try adding a transition screen to the transition you are using to got to Approved. Then add a Field Required validator to the transition and check for the Comments field.

I suggest you use a separate field for this. Even if you could make the field mandatory, the comment will get lost amongst all the other comments on the issue. Using another field will make it easy to make it mandatory and the reason easy to find.
