Como puedo configurar el correo en la version jira server 6.3.8 con jira service desk 2.3.6

Estoy intentando configurar el correo en la versión dicha anteriormente, pero siempre me saca el siguiente error cuando intento configurar una cuenta de correo gmail, lo anterior lo hago con fin de laboratorio para después hacer la actualización.

Have you increased the timeout value to at least 30000 ms?

Have you tried to connect to the mail server from the Jira server command line itself? Does it work?

You can do this with telnet.
