Custom Field Description Not Showing

I'm trying to make the Story Points (created by JIRA upon installing) to include the following:

"Measurement of complexity and/or size of a requirement.
XS = 1 S = 2 M = 3 L = 5 XL = 8 XXL = 13"

However, the description remains the same as default even after I've restarted and and reindexed my JIRA (local instance).

How does one go about modifying the Description of a JIRA-Created custom field?  The field isn't locked like Epic Link and Rank, but why doesn't the update show?

Never mind sorry for the dumb question - I had to go to Field Configuration to apply the actual changes to see the desired behavior.

Went to Default Field Configuration. updated the Description of Story Point, and saw the effect right away.
