Date/Time picker not showing under Details

I'm attempting to use a Date/Time picker as a way to email reminders through automation. Currently when I select a date/time it does not show under "Details". I understand that a field cannot be empty but this has a date and time in it. Any idea?

Dates are in the right panel in Jira. You can't put Date type fields into tabs out of the box.

When I select a date it's not in the right-panel. It doesn't appear anywhere. It seems that a custom field cannot be empty in order to display under details, but even after selecting date/time it doesn't show anywhere.
