Is it possible to delete the "default" filters added for every project?
Our filters list is really cluttered due to every project creating a new filter by default (which no one uses). This creates an issue when I ask people to star certain filters, they get confused by all the nonsense filters.
I tried deleting them the normal way, but cannot get past "This filter is currently being used by xyz board" message.
IF these filters cant be deleted without deleting the board/project, is there a way to add starred filters for all users by default? This way they could just use the filters drop down menu like I intended.
There's no way to delete filters that are in use - you don't need to delete a project to get rid of a default filter, but you will have to delete all the boards that use a filter before you can kill off a filter.
There's no way to clobber people's favourites automatically - it's a poor thing to do to people - some won't mind, but a lot of your users will object to you amending their list of filters.
Except in the case of new users, where I would love to be able to set a series of defaults, a small handful of system-wide useful filters and dashboards should be added to their favourites to help them get started.
Thanks for the answer. Seems like I have to set up new user accounts manually and add them the filters etc I want.
Our users come and go so they really only need to use our Jira for few months at most.
