Hello!
What is the best way to present the status of epics, including planned end dates and actual delivery, in Jira?
We need a single chart that displays this information across all projects, rather than separate boards for each project.
For example, we'd like a consolidated view similar to an Epic Burndown Chart, but encompassing all projects in one place.
Thank you!
Hi @Liora Naginsky,
As mentioned by @Dave Rosenlund _Trundl_ this is not possible with the Jira's default gadgets of reports. But you could search on Atlassian Marketptlace for apps that offer such functionality.
If you intend to use an app, our Great Gadgets lets you create both epic burndown charts (with issues from multiple projects) and cross-project burndown charts by using its Release Burndown Burnup Chart gadget.
These articles clearly explain how to do this:
Helpful in this case can be the Pivot Table & Pivot Chart gadget offered by the same app, which allows you to calculate and display the progress of your epics, regardless of how many projects their issues are spread over.
Danut.
Hi, @Liora Naginsky 👋
AFAIK, there is no way to do this with Jira out-of-the-box, except perhaps with Jira Advanced Roadmaps, which is part of your Premium plan.
However, I have not tried this myself. I have been used to using one of the PPM solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace for many years now. They are purpose-built for managing in-flight projects with tools for looking across projects.
Advanced Roadmaps is purpose-built for project planning but you may be able to make it work for your use case.
Hope this helps,
-dave
