I am wondering if there is a way to accomplish something we are doing manually today using our Service Desk Bigpicture portfolio or a Service Desk / Jira dashboard/gadget.
We have several parent tasks each with identical subtasks. Out of the 30 or so subtasks every project has, there are three key subtasks that are out major milestones. Our management is only interested in seeing those milestones in an easy to read summary. So we are using manually created tables based on our service desk subtasks.
It would make our lives so much easier to be able to auto generate this view or something similar.
Hopefully this visual will help - here is one of our projects showing the subtasks in question (I've erased any identifying data and removed all but the three key milestones)
What we are doing is creating a table using the start and end date of the three milestone tasks (here just a dummy one created in excel).
Is there any way to generate this or something similar without having to copy and paste?
Hi @Robin Raben
I would keep simple. On those 3 milestone subtasks add a label to them identify them so that you can use them in a jql filter.
Then in the scope of the bigpictue tickets in the program settings, filter out the parent tasks and the subtasks that have the special label.
Also, make sure you set the hierarchies to display the main task and then the subtask.
This way you have main task and the subtaks that can be expanded. Update the views so that it displays the same way as your table.
Other plugins you could use are eazybi or structure that have similar functionality.
