Generating Confluence page from a Jira ticket

Shakir Islam September 6, 2021

Hi all,

I was hoping that when a particular type of ticket was created (E.g. When the priority field has a value of high), a confluence page would be automatically generated in a pre-defined confluence space off a pre-existing confluence page template.

However, I'd also like particular values from the Description section of the Jira ticket to transfer over as inputs to the labels in the newly generated confluence space.

For instance, say we have a confluence template where it makes the title of the confluence page "Project Team XXX" and a body "Quantity of team members: XXX". Someone would go ahead and raise a jira ticket with 'high' priority (the trigger), with a ticket description as follows:

Name: Delta
Quantity: 15

After creating the ticket, a confluence page will be created based on the page templates, however replace the 'XXX' values with the section relevant in the Jira Ticket description, thus the confluence page would be titled "Project Team Delta" and have a body of "Quantity of team members: 15".

Would something like this be possible or am I overcomplicating certain components?

Hi @Shakir Islam

From the looks of it, I think that it's doable. I'm not going to go into details, since some of the things you want to do are described here

With a few tweaks in her code, you will be able to manage it. Pay attention to the custom data you send via webhook and just input the correct variables.
