Globbing not working when searching for filters in Jira 8

We recently upgraded from Jira 7.13 to 8.0.1 and today it's been spotted that when using globbing to search for similarly named filters it no longer works. 

For example searching for "filter*" will no longer find any filters, whereas before the upgrade it would find filters containing the string "filter" or "filters".

I've tried replacing the "*" in the search term with ".*","%", and "?" but none of these work either.  I've been unable to spot anything in the release notes that mentions changes to globbing in that search function.  

Has this feature been removed purposefully, has the wildcard character changed, or is it just broken?
