Got Unknown error when create IT ServiceDesk project

Hello everyone,

I am using JIRA software + JIRA SD on server. I can create any project on Software and Business. However, I got problem when try to create project on Service Desk. Although I can create Basic and Customer Service on Service Desk, I can't create IT Service Desk (the picture below).

I got this message "Unknown error". How can I resolve this problem?

Hi,

I have seen this problem happen with that specific type of Service Desk project, but only on systems that run Jira in another language other than English.  There is a documented bug for that cause over in https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDSERVER-5545

I would recommend looking at that bug and then take a look at your own logs for Jira, which you can find in the $JIRAHOME/log/ folder.   I suspect your error message will closely match the one in that bug ticket if your Jira is not using English as the system language.

But if that is not the case, I would still want to see what error is thrown in your logs when trying to create this project type.   The details of that stacktrace will tell us much more about what is causing this.
