Background:
In my company, we are using in-house application called "Remedy" to manage our workflow. For example, when we need to create a server, this request is submitted to "Remedy" in a specific template. And the task moves from one department to another department (manager to manager) in the "Remedy" to finish a specific task.
Challenges: There is no visibility of these activities at the project level.
Goal: To make the process seamless, we want to integrate "Remedy" with Jira.
Question: If "Remedy" is sending an email to Jira server every time there is a change of status of a task in "Remedy", is it possible jira can create an issue based on the email and assign it to a responsible person?
Are you talking about BMC Remedy? Our integration platform, ConnectAll, already has adapters for JIRA and Remedy.
See https://www.connectall.com/integration/adapters/bmc-remedy/
You might want to request an evaluation to see if that works. On top of it, you can create custom adapters for internal applications if you want to connect to applications that are already listed under adapters.
Hello,
If you want to integrate Remedy and Jira through email, then you can not do much with of the box mail handlers. For example, you can not change the status of an issue on getting a email. You should use such plugins as Email this issue or Jira Enterprise Email Handler.
But I think it would be a better solution to integrate Remedy and Jira via Jira Rest Api. You can find more info here:
