How do I add mandatory fields in a subtask?

Hi, 

I currently have a form in our portal which creates a ticket in Jira once submitted. 

Based on the answers given in this form, I want to create a subtask. I want the subtask to copy some of the information in the description from the parent issue. I then want to include some additional fields which will be left empty and it will be for the assignee of that subtask to fill out those fields before closing the subtask.

Is there a way I can add mandatory fields to a subtask that the assignee will have to fill out (without which they cant close the subtask) without creating a new workflow or changing the current workflows?

No. You would at least need to add a screen to the close transition showing the desired fields and requiring they are filled.
