How do I show a verifier portrait on a Kanban card?

I'd like to modify Kanban cards to show the portrait of a verifier on the card, in the same way the portrait of the Assignee is shown on the card. The Verifier field is defined as User Picker (single user) in the issue type. 

When I modify the Kanban card appearance to show the field, it shows the verifier's name, rather than their portrait. It's ugly and it makes my cards take up too much room. 

Is there a way to get the card to show a portrait rather than the name?

That's not possible, for what I see here https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWSERVER-16411 so in order to make it possible you should be voting on that issue, and also watch it to get notifications about it.
