We are set up with a Service Desk in the Cloud and have our customer notifications all correct and working. However on some conditions a different type of notification gets sent and I need to know where to go to have the system use the customer notifications and ignore this type. Can you help please?

Regarding your screenshot, mentions are automatically sent via e-mail and it is a good feature. Mention notification is not configurable by admin.

The only thing you can to avoid to mention people (@name). From the mail you can see that a person was mentioned.
In general to disable non Customer-Notifications for Agents you can turn of the project notification scheme but this will not disable mention notifications.
Which makes sense when you mention someone who is not part of the issue itself.
