From customer portal we have only one issue type (incident) to get all kind of request from the customer.
Now we want to internally change the issue type to dehire, whenever custom field request type is 'Employee Exit'.
Now using automation for Jira i was able to change the issue type but i was not able to change status of the issue from open to any other.
Both the workflow start with Open status only.

I believe that in this case, the automation is making the issue type is not being correctly associated with the workflow, that's why the buttons to make the transition is not appearing.
As a test, can you please disable the automation and move manually the ticket to another issue type?
Also, for this ticket that the issue type was already changed, please, move back to the previous issue type and then manually move again to the new one.
